Placeholder text is commonly used in both print and digital design for mocking up layouts. The earliest and most widespread type of placeholder text is Lorem Ipsum, a latin-based, nonsense text. Also referred to as “Greek”, placeholder text is often used to give the feel of real text without distracting from design elements. Ellen Ipsum is based on this concept, but using words and phrases from the writings of Ellen G. White.
